CHED Zonal Research Center for Region 1 and CAR

  

     THE CHED Zonal Research Center for Region 1 and CAR based in Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Batac, Ilocos Norte which serves as the research nucleus of all higher education institutions (HEIs) in Northern Luzon. It is the focal arm of CHED in increasing accessibility of research wherewithal which are strategic to the zone, enhancing HEI capability and capacity to undertake research, providing a prospect for HEIs to carry out research work given a research schema, and utilizing such research output. MMSU being the chosen higher education institution was selected on a set of criteria such as institutional credibility, institutional leadership within the zone, and recognized record of excellence as attested by the presence of COD/COE, as well as a strong graduate program with a critical mass of research oriented faculty.

     The Commission on Higher Education identified Saint Louis University of Baguio City to be a Program Cluster Implementor of the ZRC at MMSU that will collaborate in the formulation and implementation of the Zonal Research Program for 2008-2011.
